The inaugural Nation’s Football Classic™ will be held Thursday, September 8 through Sunday, September 11.

The inaugural game features Howard University and Morehouse College, two of our nation’s most recognized and heritage-rich Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Howard and Morehouse renew their rivalry at RFK Stadium on Saturday, September 10 beginning at 3:30 p.m., marking their first meeting in 14 years.

“We are committed to making the inaugural Nation’s Football Classic™ more than a game. It will be a special experience for fans of all ages and interests,” said Erik A. Moses, managing director of the Sports and Entertainment Division of Events DC.

“We hope residents and visitors alike will take advantage of these event offerings taking place around our nation’s capital as we welcome HBCU students, alumni and fans to the District. With such fun and interesting events planned, we are confident the Nation’s Football Classic™ will become a highly-anticipated annual event in Washington, D.C. for years to come.”

Events include the UNCF Empower Me Tour, the Nation’s Football Classic™ Kickoff Rally, an HBCU Alumni Networking Reception and the Nation’s Football Classic™ Fan Festival. There will also be a Presidential Symposium, a Student Debate and an HBCU College Showcase and Recruitment Fair co-hosted by Howard and Morehouse.

All events are free to the general public (except for the football game). Students, alumni, HBCU football fans and all other interested parties are encouraged to attend and participate in the various discussions, networking opportunities and educational experiences.
